The Johnson City and Gray, Tennessee, communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Olivia Grace White, affectionately known as Grace, who passed away at the age of 22. Her death has left her family, friends, classmates, church community, and loved ones grieving the loss of a remarkable young woman whose life was defined by faith, compassion, and a sincere desire to help others.
Born on August 6, 2003, in Johnson City, Grace was the youngest child of Norman and Amy White. From an early age, she was known for her joyful spirit, determination, and caring heart. Her family remembers her as someone who embraced life with kindness and whose faith in Jesus Christ guided her words, actions, and relationships.
Faith remained at the center of Grace’s life. She was baptized by her grandfather, Dr. Norman White Sr., at Embreeville Church of Christ and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 10. As a faithful member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, she actively participated in church life and, during her years at Daniel Boone High School, was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Truth Bible Club, where she encouraged and supported fellow students through her Christian faith.
Grace also excelled in athletics and the performing arts. She participated in gymnastics, competitive dance, tumbling, high school cheerleading, and competitive cheer, building lifelong friendships while inspiring teammates with her enthusiasm and dedication. She found comfort and companionship in her beloved dog, Roxy, who remained a cherished part of her life.
Academically, Grace was an outstanding student. She was a member of both the Beta Club and the National Honor Society before continuing her education in nursing school, where she consistently earned Dean’s List honors. Her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse reflected her deep compassion for children and her lifelong commitment to serving others. Before entering nursing school, she volunteered extensively at local hospitals, gaining valuable experience while making a positive impact on patients and families. She successfully completed three years of her nursing education, leaving behind a legacy of service and determination.
Grace is survived by her loving parents, Norman and Amy White; her brother, Noah White; her longtime boyfriend, Jake Cadogan; and many extended family members, friends, church members, classmates, and mentors who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.
Those who knew Grace remember her for far more than her accomplishments. They recall her warm smile, compassionate heart, unwavering faith, and ability to bring comfort and encouragement to those around her. Her life touched countless people, and her legacy will continue through the kindness, love, and service she demonstrated each day.
